so, i stopped at a red light. there are three vehicles in front of me. the two in front, side by side, have pvc (palm valley church) stickers. the one directly in front of me does not. i have one as well.

well, guess what isabel’s (4) bedtime song was…no, not Jesus loves me like i started. how about mama mia. yes that is what she requested! so that is what i sang, on top of her bed with my fake, air microphone & wearing my silver platform boots (in my head, i don’t really have them).

ths same day the kid at starbucks called me ma’am, i had to explain to my that i knew who the ramones are – she has a clock in her room. i went on to tell her i saw the ramones at the hollywood palladium – when joey ramone was alive(duh). i should have kept my mouth shut. it was one of those times…the more i talked, the more i should have been quiet.
talk about feeling old!

God – my relationship with…an understanding of a commitment. learning that when i ask, i have to accept the answer (yes, no, maybe so). when i say i will, i better be ready to do.

my husband – together discovering a “whole nudda level” of love. faith in one another.

children – over abundance of love. new found patience and understanding. lots of pure joy!

family / friends – comforting, uplifting, forgiving!…

the opportunities that i have “to do work son”; not my mine, but His.

i’ve always been drawn to the color black. i think there is something “clean” about it. there is no arguing with it – it just is. simple. i think it matches every thing and every color. it makes a statement on its own or adds a punch of finality. even before chanel re-vamped it – yes, they single handedly caused the black revolution – black was my color. if black was a color and i had to choose a color, i would choose black. i like red and green (seperately), turquoise, but they come and go – black is a classic.

but black lipstick?! really? it hit the runway(s) way back in february! ysl, zac posen. even lancome! has launched a black lipstick.

do you know how white your teeth have to be in order to pull this off? they have to be translucent like regis’. not to mention the up-keep in making sure your lips aren’t chapped, smugged and you better have beautifully balanced lips.

we are being hit with the ads in the mags now, actually during the fall season. i couldn’t believe it then and i can’t believe it now.

for all you non-goth people, go with a dark berry, cranberry is hot and mauve, mauve it so in this season!

p.s. if you see me wearing black lipstick, smack me!

as a mother of four children, 2 dogs, a cat, a fish and a husband, some days i can hardly wait for bedtime. i look at the clock, its only 4:30 and i can’t believe there are 4 more hours until bedtime! the kids are bouncin off the walls, the dogs trailing the kids or trying to befriend the cat, dinner needs to be made – you get the picture.

this weekend turned out to be unusually quiet. 2 of the 4 children were gone, leaving the 7 and 3.5 year olds. the kids were getting along so well i found myself verbalizing, “so this is what it would like if we had just 2 kids. it’s almost too quiet.”

i am thankful for my crew; no matter how tired or overwhelmed i may feel some days.

have you ridden a ride one too many times and got motion sickness? have you wanted to ride a roller coaster from a far (believe me, i wasn’t admiring this one), but once the harness bar comes down, you know you want off. are you too embarrassed to tell the person checking the safety belts, you want off?

social hour

recently, i was told by someone that i love, that i think life is a “social hour”. “what’s wrong with that?”, i thought. though i didn’t vocalize my thought because i didn’t feel like having to explain (dreaded, long process – wouldn’t convince the person otherwise), i merrily traveled to my weekly “coffee” with the girls. all the while thinking about the statement, wondering, ”was being irresponsible?”

yes…i had an errand or two i could have gotten done beforehand, but nothing pressing. nothing serious enough that i had to run around like a chicken without a head, miss my coffee time, go into work frazzled but in slow motion because i didn’t get my daily coffee requirement(s).

it’s a great time to just hang without an agenda. some of us are passing through on our way to work, others get to stay for longer, but laughter is always present.

who says life has to be so serious?
